Watch Muskegon

Muskegon is quickly becoming West Michigan’s destination city.  With dozens of downtown hot spots, three professional-level sports teams, miles of Lake Michigan beaches, many marquee events, and unmatched cultural amenities, there is something for everyone in Muskegon.  Mercy Health Arena is located within walking distance to three breweries, 10 restaurants, amazing locally-owned retail, and the second largest outdoor farmers market in Michigan.  We encourage you to turn your trip to the arena into an all-day event exploring downtown Muskegon.  Suggested activities: download the Watch Muskegon Downtown Phone Application and take a walking tour of our impressive public art collection; visit the Muskegon Museum of Art; Help Moxie – the whimsical mastodon at the Lakeshore Museum Center – find her baby mastodons hidden throughout downtown.

Downtown Muskegon is home to two full-service hotels.  The Delta by Marriott is Connected to Mercy Health Arena via the Muskegon Convention Center.  This amazing 200 room hotel underwent an $8 Million renovation in 2019.  The Delta offers lake views, fine dining, pool/spa amenities, and downtown’s only Starbucks location.  The Shoreline Inn & Conference Center is located directly across Lakeshore Drive from Mercy Health Arena.  With 140 rooms, the Shoreline Inn is Muskegon’s largest water-front hotel – every room has an amazing water view.  At the Shoreline Inn, you can enjoy waterfront dining at the Lakehouse Restaurant.  The Shoreline Inn also has a 150-slip marina with many transient and shopper docks – providing a great opportunity to visit Mercy Health Arena by boat!

Food & Drink Nearby

Downtown Muskegon is home to dozens of locally-owned restaurants.  If your family loves pizza, you can’t go wrong with Top Shelf Pizza, Rebel Pies, 18th Amendment, or Capone’s Speakeasy.  If you are looking for finer dining, we recommend The Lake House, Walker’s, Smash Wine Bar, or Capone’s Speakeasy.  Other fun and family-friendly options include Rad Dad’s Tacos and Tequila and Carlisle’s (both located in the arena), Dr. Rolf’s BBQ, Hamburger Mikey, Curry Kitchen, 794 Kitchen and Bar, or Hennessy’s Pub.  There are many more – and new ones added all the time.
If you are looking for a local beer, we recommend Pigeon Hill Brewing, Unruly Brewing (both just steps away from Mercy Health Arena) or The Rake Beer Project (a five-minute walk down Western Ave).  We are also excited for you to try 18th Amendment Distillery or Burl and Sprig’s Premium Spirits and Craft Cocktails.

Rad Dad’s

Rad Dads’s was founded in 2017.  After sweeping every award category at the Taste of Muskegon, Rad Dad’s officially opened in the Mercy Health Arena in June of 2018.  Rad Dad’s is a throwback to honor the typical Gen Xer.  If you grew up with Super Mario, Garbage Pail Kids, Pogs, cassette tapes, and awesome music – you will love Rad Dad’s.  Their menu features many specialty tacos, nachos, rice bowls, spaghetti Ohs, and much more.  Plus Rad Dad’s has the largest tequila selection in West Michigan!  It’s a great place to be part of the game action without being at the game.

Cool Kids

Coming soon! Frozen yogurt will be available all summer at Cool Kids – conveniently located in the Mercy Health Arena.

Coming soon! Carlisle’s has committed to building a restaurant located in the Mercy Health Arena. Carlisle’s is owned and operated by the HCK Group.
